You can create a Goldmine only if you sign in with a Facebook account.
We will see if we can make any improvements to this feature.

This is still a good feature and a way of getting free gold. One option is to create an account just for the game, you could even use your in game name for it. Then from that look for a group on Facebook where friends can add each other to exchange gold. I haven't found any groups yet so I might create one.
